Discovering Breech babyIts never too early to prepare yourself for the possibility of a breech birth, but it’s definitely early uptill labour begins to resign yourself to one. The babies breech position is something you may discover at one of your regular check-ups. Before term, which is defined as 37 weeks, it doesn't matter if the baby is breech, as there is always a good chance that he or she will turn spontaneously to settle into a head-down position. Some babies do keep their parents and doctors guessing until only a few days before delivery. What causes a breech position? The fetus usually takes the breech position when-the fetus is smaller than average and not cradled snugly in the uterus-the uterus is unusually shaped.-when there is an excess of amniotic fluid-when there is more than one fetus-when the uterus is relatively relaxed because of having been stretched during previous pregnancies |
